Heigtening of the existing gravity dam to supply water to new irrigated areas

The dam, built in 1959, is located along the course of the river Aragón.

The project to raise the height of Yesa dam  involved the construction of a new concrete faced gravel dam:

  • the Yesa reservoir has now doubled its capacity from 446.86 hm³ to 1 079 hm³,

  • the height of the new dam is 108 meters instead of 78 and its crest length is 430 m.
