Nagpur Metro Project - Phase 2

The Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project, managed by the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MMRCL) represents a major step forward in urban mobility in the state of Maharashtra.
By connecting Nagpur’s satellite cities and increasing the network’s capacity by an additional 100,000 passengers, this new extension will encourage a modal shift from road to rail while boosting social and economic growth through improved infrastructure.

The Nagpur Metro Phase 2 aims to extend the two existing lines built in Phase 1, with four new extensions (North, South, East, and West), totalling 44 km and 32 stations.

Our Indian subsidiary, CETEST, has been appointed by Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (KPIL) to conduct a detailed ground condition assessment for Section 2 (Reach 3A, from Lokmanya Nagar to Hingna), which consists of a 6.4 km elevated metro viaduct with seven stations.

Since November 2024, our team has successfully completed approximately 200 boreholes along the elevated metro viaduct. Due to KPIL's satisfaction with our work, our scope has been expanded to include an additional 100 boreholes in Reach 2B which includes a 5.9 km viaduct from Cantonment to Kanhan. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.

These investigations are crucial for the design of resilient foundations for the viaducts and other structural elements, ensuring the long-term success of this vital urban mobility project.
