Gujarat’s fastest growing city, Surat, is facing lot of traffic problems. To overcome this problem of traffic snarls and congestion, the Surat Municipal Corporation has decided to widen and upgrade existing roads with Cement-Concrete pavement, so as to increase their road life.
Surat Municipal Corporation has widened 9.50 kms in the 1st phase, and has planned to upgrade a stretch of 17.5 km long roads in the 2nd phase in two parts, as Package III and Package IV. Surat Municipal Corporation has floated tenders for and Package III which has a stretch of 7 kms of road, broken down into 4.5 kms of Udhana Magala road and 2.5 kms of Adajan Road at cost of INR 354.3 Million. Package IV has 10.5 kms of road, broken down into the stretch of Rander Road (2.95 kms), Varachha road (3.95 kms) and Amroli road (3.50 kms) at a cost of INR 543.7 Million.
