This Plan represents an important tool for the development of Mozambique and involves representatives of several institutions of the Mozambican State, being financed by the Fisheries Development Fund, with a contract of more than USD 3.5 million and an expected duration of 24 months. It is integrated in the SWIOFish1 MZ Project (Project on Governance and Shared Fisheries Growth) aimed at increasing the economic, social and environmental benefits of marine fisheries of the Southeast Indian Ocean countries.

SWIOFish is a long-term commitment of the World Bank to support the sustainable development of the fishing industry in the region.
