GETINSA - Supervision of the upgrading works for the railway line Bucay - Sibambe, 44 km long, including 3 tunnels originally built along the railway line, 30 bridges to be upgraded and a cut-and-cover tunnel to be constructed.

The main purpose of this project is to upgrade 44 km of railway line between Bucay and Sibambe, in the provinces of Guayas, Cañas and Chimborazo (Ecuador). This railway section includes 3 tunnels, originally built with the railway line, 30 bridges that must be upgraded and a cut-and-cover tunnel to be constructed. Concrete sleepers manufactured in the country were used for the straight sections of the line, with gradients of less than 3.5% and a curve radius greater than 150 m. Creosote-treated wood sleepers were used for the rest.
