Synergia was contracted to develop a Sexual Education Project aimed at workers of Vale and the adolescents and youths of city of Canaã dos Carajás, in the state of Pará, where the company has its largest undertaking in Brazil.

Synergia implements the Sexual Education and Health Promotion Project throughout the entire chain of the S11D project in Canaã dos Carajás. This project involves two different audiences, the workforce, consisting of Vale employees and its contractors and the general public, composed of adolescents, youth, and community leaders of the municipality of Canaã dos Carajás.

The principal activities are conducting opinion survey on the subject, preparation of the Plan of Action and implementation of a series of educational activities for the mentioned audience.

The main themes addressed in educational activities are Rights of Children and Adolescents in Brazil, Sexual Rights and Prevention of Teenage Pregnancy, Health Promotion and Prevention of STD/AIDS, Prevention of Sexual Violence, Social Participation and Awareness on care procedures for children and young victims of abuse and sexual exploitation.
