Since 2012, with the challenge of training, attracting and retaining professionals to work in Minas-Rio Project, Synergia has been developing the Mover Program for Anglo American.
The initiative seeks to assist the local population of Conceição do Mato Dentro in entering the labor market. Two strategies are used: the use of buses as mobile training units equipped with 16 computers and internet access and capable of driving unpaved roads; and the development of an educational website, which uses elements of the distance education methodology and features more than 100 video classes.
Besides, Synergia works to raise awareness and support professional development projects for those living in temporary housings, employees and local entrepreneurs, carrying out digital inclusion activities, workshops for women, among others.
In 2014, a partnership between Anglo American and Minas Gerais State Department of Education will enable the use of Mover Program’s website as a tool to support extracurricular activities in public schools, benefiting around 150 teachers and more than 1300 high-school students.
