Following the implementation of Vale´s Northern Logistic Corridor (NLC) project, Synergia elaborated findings from the urban and rural real estate assessment and the evaluation of improvements in order to define the most adequate compensation policies in the involuntary relocation processes.

Synergia extended its contract with Vale until 2016 to draft the report of the urban and rural real estate assessment in the areas of interest to the miner in the states of Maranhão and Pará, on the account of the Northern Logistic Corridor (NLC) project implementation. The augmentation of the logistic capacity of the Northern System to 230 million tons of iron ore per year brings about onshore and offshore investments, in addition to the duplication of railway routes, the extension of 100 km and the construction of a railway terminal.

This report looks into inspections of chattel and fixture land improvements on each property. This survey consists of identifying all the items that characterize the realized investments by land or property owners or the loss of natural and labor resources due to this relocation. The objective is to guarantee that all the necessities of each family are provided for while preserving the existing economic relations.

The collected information is subject to the established criteria and norms of real estate assessment set forth by the Brazilian Engineering Evaluations and Investigations Institute.
