Topographic Survey for Preparation of Detailed Project Report for Improvement of Two Lane/Four Laning of Imphal-Jiribam section of NH-37 in the State of Manipur
CDM Smith India Private Limited has received contract from the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), under Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi for “Consultancy Services for Detailed Project Report for Improvement of Two Lane with Paved Shoulder/Four Laning of Imphal-Jiribam section of NH-37 in the State of Manipur”. In connection with the above consultancy services the work for detailed topographical survey has been awarded to CETEST.
The scope of the work included:
Carrying out topographical survey, establishing co-ordinates through Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) and Auto Levels for preparation of digital terrain model.
Capturing the detailed features i.e. electrical poles, telephone poles, water / sewerage / gas / oil pipe line, buildings, shops, hutments, trees, river, culverts, bridges etc.
Survey of cross roads was conducted for a length of 200m for major roads and 100m for other minor roads.
Longitudinal and cross sections for major and minor streams as per recommendations contained in IRC Special Publication No. 13 and IRC 5 – 1998.
The proposed project route traversed through steep hilly terrain with dense jungle. 95% of the total stretch is located in uninhabited terrain. But in spite of all odds, our surveyors and engineers took the challenge and completed their job successfully.
