GETINSA - The road section referred to in the project is located in the Bolivian Plateau, in the provinces of Murillo, Los Andes and Ingavi (La Paz Department), and goes from Río Seco to Desaguadero. It has an approximate length of 97.41km and can be divided into 3 stretches, with flat to undulating topography.

The services provided can be divided into 3 stages:

Stage I: Review, Addition, Modification, Updating and Validation of the Detailed Design.

  • The detailed design provided by the Bolivian Roads Authority was reviewed, updated and validated in this stage. The main components of the design were:
  • Project description
  • Traffic study
  • Pavement survey and design
  • Soil and materials testing
  • Hydrological, geological and geotechnical surveys
  • Supplementary works, traffic signing and road marking
  • Bill of Quantities
  • General, special, administrative and environmental specifications
  • Drawings

Stage II: Supervision of Construction Works

  • The main activities of this stage were:
  • Verification of compliance with the Quality Control Plan
  • Bill of Quantities
  • Supervision of artworks and structures
  • Monitoring of materials and geotechnical works
  • Supervision of paving works
  • Approval of payment certificates

Stage III: Project Closing

  • A Routine Maintenance Plan covering a 3-year period, upon the completion of the works.
